Funny Moments

May 14th, 2009

We’re in Orlando. Mom and Dad brought Madison and me to Disney World. It has been a blast, and we’ll have lots of pictures to share when we get home.

But something happened that was so funny the ‘rents wanted me to share it… Frankly, I don’t see what’s so funny…

So there I was, standing on top of a trash can I had turned upside down in the bathroom so I could play in the sink. Dad comes walking around the corner and asks what I think I am doing.

I just told him, “I had to make a stool We forgot to bring one. We didn’t pack it.”

He and mom thought that was hysterical. I was just trying to solve a need.

Easter and My Big Growth Spurt

May 4th, 2009

Easter 2009Well, the last month has been a lot of fun, but it’s also been a lot of work. Riley and I always say we need to post more, but then we get so busy growing and being cute, we totally forget to do it.

It has been about a month since my first Easter and we have a bunch of pictures online. Mommy and Daddy’s friends Sahra and Peter cam over with J.P. He’s their little boy, and Riley and I love playing with him. (Well, ok, he and Riley love playing and tormenting me, but I don’t let it stop me from playing, too.)

We went in the back yard and hunted for Easter Eggs. Riley and J.P. were so good at it there weren’t very many left for me. But Riley is such a good brother he hid some of the eggs he found so I could find them. We lost about a half dozen eggs to Kobi the wonder dog. He apparently doesn’t mind the shells and ate them whole.

The big news (as in “getting big” news) is my recent growth spurt. Mom and dad noticed I have been getting long and lean and decided to take my measurements. Between March 29 and May 3, I grew 3/4 of an inch. They said that’s a lot of growing for one month, but they haven’t seen anything yet. I plan to break that record this month. Between the warm weather and lots of rain, I have ideal growing conditions.

Long Time No Post

March 12th, 2009

So mom pointed out that it has been a very long time since we posted anything. When we finally looked, I saw that the last time I wrote anything was way back in November. So much has happened since then, I don’t even know where to begin.

In November, we traveled to New Mexico to see all our family and friends that love us. It was a great trip. Dad and Grandpa Dan and a bunch of cousins all went on a deer hunting trip, we had Thanksgiving dinner, and finally came back home. There are a lot of pictures from our Thanksgiving trip here. It was a neat trip. I really liked the ranch. When we went out to the hunting cabin I wandered around and looked at everyone and got lots of cuddles and kisses. I also got to drive a car for the first time. I took Riley for a ride in my jeep (pictured).

Dad stepped in a big hole and really hurt his ankle, but after a few weeks he was ok.

While we were in New Mexico, Riley and I played with daddy’s and mommy’s friend Karen’s little girl Hannah. I really liked her. We played well together and I hope we get to see her again soon.

I also got to spend some time with my Grandpa Thad. The picture on the right is him and me. He went to heaven in March, and I’m really going to miss him. He was very cuddly.
Anyway, after a very nice Thanksgiving dinner, we came back to Virginia and got ready for Christmas.

There are a lot of good Christmas pictures. We had a very nice Christmas time. Our house was very pretty. Dad hung white lights all around the outside. Our tree was red and white and silver and very shiny. I really liked playing with the ornaments and only broke a few. They were very delicate little things – like me.

We got lots of nice presents from Santa. I got some neat toys, and my first purse. Riley and I got a guitar that we really like to play with. It has an amp and everything.

Riley got a bunch of construction toys. Lina and Glenda (our nanny and her daughter) gave us some very nice gifts, too.

One of the best gifts we got was a visit from Grandma Betty. She spent a week with us between the 22nd and the 30th. It was really neat having her in town. I wish my grandmas and grandpas could come see me every week.

We helped mommy and daddy make treats and a dinner for Christmas and some friends of mommy’s and daddy’s came by and ate with us. Our friend Sahra’s little boy was traveling on Christmas morning and she had dinner with us before he came home. That was nice.

Riley also had a Christmas party at school. In the Christmas album, there are some pictures of the pageant and Riley and his classmates singing songs. You should take a look.

I’ll let Riley write up a little blurb about our year so far. 2009 has been very busy, but he can tell you all about it.
